The universe is a magnificent vehicle that is connected deeply with every single one of its passengers. It’s constantly taking us towards new horizons while blessing us from its limitless bounties. There exists a veil that prevents us from seeing the actual beauty of this life. The interesting thing is that every single human being has the power to see right through that veil and connect with the universe on a deeper, spiritual level – it’s only a matter of how much you are willing to struggle to achieve that power. Our bodies have energy centers, called chakras, which all have different physical and spiritual purposes. These chakras help us regulate the vital bodily processes and connect with the universe on a much deeper level. Many people believe that the chakra system consists of 7 chakras i.e. the Root Chakra, the Sacral Chakra, the Solar Plexus Chakra, the Heart Chakra, the Throat Chakra, the Third Eye Chakra, and the Crown Chakra. But the truth is, we have 12 chakras, with the other 5 being the Soul Star Chakra, the Spirit Chakra, the Universal Chakra, the Galactic Chakra, and the Divine Gateway Chakra.
Modern technology has created a gap between us and the spiritual realm. There is a dire need for people to be made aware of the actual universe around them.

Where Did the Concept of Chakras Emerge?
People have been practicing chakra balancing for centuries. The concept initially emerged in ancient India, somewhere between 500 BC to 1500 BC. It was first mentioned in an ancient text called Vedas, which is revered as a text of enlightenment and knowledge in Hinduism. It’s fascinating how the concept managed to survive throughout the centuries. Something which was followed for ages and is still ingrained in cultures around the world must be effective and must show promising results.

It Helps You Become More Grounded
You begin to realize the true beauty of life and the universe itself when you become more grounded with the Earth, when you become humbler, and when you have a better understanding of the reality. The root chakra can help you with that. It also benefits the kidneys, adrenal glands, colon, legs, and bones.
It Enhances Your Sex Life
Sexual desires are common and nothing to be ashamed of. When controlled, they can enhance your sex life significantly. A balanced sacral chakra can help you control and channel your sexual urges towards healthier things. Moreover, it directly affects sexual organs/parts like the testicles, ovaries, womb, etc.
In this life, an optimal amount of courage is necessary to face the relentless ups and downs. Those who believe in themselves and have higher self-esteem are usually the ones who are the most successful. Your solar plexus chakra can provide you with the much-needed boost of self-confidence and courage to overcome the obstacles of life. This chakra aids in the healing and strengthening of the stomach, adrenal glands, gallbladder, liver, and muscles.
It Provides You with Peace
Every struggle that we are facing, every pain that we are enduring, every foe that we are fighting, and everything that we are doing…everything is part of a pursuit for peace. Peace is the one thing which every single being is after. Fortunately enough, there is a center of peace within every human being – the heart chakra. Located in the chest, it’s what keeps the heart pumping in a healthy way and your immune system in good shape.
It Helps You See the Truth Clearly
Peace, harmony, and success all depend on the single element of communication. If you think about it, most workplace and personal conflicts begin with miscommunication. The purpose of the throat chakra is just that…to help us communicate and express our feelings more clearly and effectively and become aware of the truth. A balanced throat chakra benefits the thyroid, the throat, and oral health.
It Can Increase Your Intuition
Those who have a strong connection with the spiritual realm have strong intuition. This means that they can guess or predict things without having to use conscious reasoning. Multiple chakras can help you in this regard, including the third eye chakra, the soul star chakra, the galactic chakra, and the divine gateway chakra.
It Makes Your Spirit Stronger
Human beings are sophisticated creations made up of the spirit and the physical body. These two parts are deeply connected to one another. If one is damaged, the other one can feel its effects as well. Because of that, having a strong spirit automatically means having a strong physical body, free from all sorts of diseases and pain. It is crucial for the crown and the spirit chakras to be perfectly balanced.
Your chakra system is the most useful asset that you can use to conquer the obstacles of life and make your world a beautiful place. Therefore, it’s crucial for your chakras to be perfectly aligned. What does it mean to be “awake?” Does it mean being aware of the sophisticated aspects of the political landscape? Or does it mean knowing what to do in certain circumstances? Or does it mean something else entirely? In my opinion, being AWAKE has nothing to do with our worldly lives and so much to do with our spiritual selves. Sadly, many people spend their entire lives being unaware of the fact that they have this completely different identity which exists as a separate being. Our bodies are similar to vessels which are being driven by our souls. Knowing how to work on our spiritual existence is what we should all be focusing on the most because that is what will be left after we depart from this world. To celebrate this idea, I recently held a Spiritual Awakening class at Wellspring Books, AZ. I was happy to see that so many people came together to seek answers and find out more about their souls!
“Waking up” your spirit is one thing but what comes after that? How does one get to know that they are finally spiritually awakened? What signs and symptoms should that person be looking for? What different experiences should they be looking forward to? And more importantly, how can they benefit from their spiritual awakening? In this article, I will try to answer all these questions and hopefully provide you with a better understanding of what to do with this spiritual change and how you can take maximum advantage of it. Let’s get started!
How Spiritual Awakening Works
The primary aim of this article is to discuss the signs and symptoms of spiritual awakening, which is why I will try to keep this bit as short as possible. Ideally, by now, you should have already started working towards awakening your spiritual self. In case you haven’t, here are some brief tips on how you can accomplish that.
- Allow New Ideas to Enter Your Mind
The first and the most crucial step in spiritual awakening is to expand your perspective. Allow new and fresh ideas to enter into your mind. Read new books, get into sophisticated debates, question your existing beliefs, and realize that the universe is much larger than what the human brain allows one to comprehend. By doing so, you will feel a surge of knowledge and better critical thinking skills flowing through your mind.
- Get Rid of Unwanted Belongings
Sometimes, a cluttered home could get in the way of you successfully inviting spiritual awakening into your mind and heart. The unwanted things in your home could very well act as physical barriers and prevent you from achieving spiritual fulfillment in your life.
The spiritual realm is parallel to this worldly life. And the best way to escape the noise of the world is to spend time connecting with nature. But, how? It’s rather simple – just go out for a walk in the park, go on a camping trip to a nearby lake, spend some time with animals or, better yet, do some yoga and meditation alone in your garden.
- Respect Your Mind and Body
Finally, I would like to highlight that working on your spiritual self doesn’t mean that you completely abandon your physical body. So, make sure that you respect the vessel which has been bestowed by the universe on you as a blessing. Eat right, stay active, and get adequate sleep!
Signs That You Are Experiencing Spiritual Awakening
Now that you have finally started to work on your spiritual awakening, without further ado, let us discuss the different signs and symptoms that you should be looking out for. This will help you keep track of your progress and give you an idea about whether whatever you are doing is working or not.
- You Have Become Highly Perceptive Lately
The special thing about being spiritually awakened is that all of your senses are heightened. From your sight to your very 6th sense, everything is enhanced. As a result, you start being extremely perceptive of everything. The little things in life that you used to ignore become a source of wonder for your eyes. You try to find meaning even in the adorable little chirps of the birds around you. You start looking at the clouds with awe. In short, the little things in life start giving you joy and happiness and that is the beauty of being spiritually awakened.
- You Stay More Grounded in the Present
I personally believe that if people stopped regretting their past and worrying about the future, the world would be a much better place to live in. Focusing on the present and giving your best every single day is one of the keys to eternal happiness and success. Those people whose souls have been awakened feel more connected with and grounded in the present. In a way, they experience a shift in time. For them, the past is something that doesn’t exist anymore. On the other hand, the future is a mystery that is locked within a chest. All they care about is the present, and they do all they can to make the most of it.
Relatively, spiritually awakened people feel a greater sense of “aliveness” than those who aren’t. But, what exactly does it mean to “feel alive?” For starters, you feel much happier than you used to before. You don’t let the little bumps and obstacles in life discourage you from achieving your dreams. And most importantly, you try your best to cheer other people up and share your happiness!
- You Feel More Compassionate
The language of empathy and compassion is universal. It’s what every single being on this planet understands. However, being empathetic and compassionate requires a level of spiritual awakening. People who have fully awakened their spirits are usually the ones who are the most compassionate and empathetic towards other life on this planet. They understand the pain, the joy, and pretty much everything that the other being might feel. This allows them to take calculated steps in their lives because they are aware of the potential consequences.
In a way, being spiritually awakened means fulfilling the very purpose human beings were created for: to realize their potential and make the world a better place for other life thriving in its domain. If you have started to experience one or more of the signs/symptoms mentioned above, then I congratulate you on being successful! If not, then don’t be discouraged – continue your struggles and you will eventually achieve spiritual awakening!
The universe has been created in perfect balance. The planets revolve around their respective stars in perfect harmony without interfering in each other’s orbits. The sun rises from the east and sets in the west without crashing into the moon. Simply put, a path has been set for everything and all the citizens of the universe have to abide by the rules in order for things to operate in harmony. However, at times, this “balance” can be disrupted by external forces. The same thing applies to the human soul and body. The incredible noise of our busy lives can very well disturb our internal balance, causing us to face difficulties in coping with the daily tasks of life. To overcome this problem, it’s extremely important that we take a moment to look at this internal balance of ours from time to time and take the necessary steps to become centered again.
But, what does it mean to feel centered? While it may sound like something related to our center of gravity, it’s so much more than that. The meaning transcends the physical aspects of our existence and touches upon the spiritual side. By being more centered, a person feels in better control of their life. This allows them to focus more on the things that really matter, like self-care, appreciating life’s blessings, and so on. Release the Tension with Deep Breathing
Sometimes, we are so caught up with thinking about the problems of our lives and how to overcome them that we don’t realize that the solution is as easy as breathing…literally! A great way of releasing the tension that has been accumulating inside your chest is to practice deep breathing. Inhale sharply and deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth as slowly as possible. A rule of thumb to remember is to make your exhales longer than your inhales. Not only will this technique help you in normalizing your heart rate, you will also be able to actually feel all the tension get released with every breath.
For a person who has a lot on their plate, making smaller efforts and doing less might sound counter-productive. However, you must realize that your ultimate goal is to become more centered and regain your internal balance. And besides, by putting yourself in less pressure, you will eventually start to accomplish way more than you had already planned. Let me explain how. Have you ever been so stressed with your responsibilities that you spent a good 60 minutes only ranting about them to your friend? If only you had spent those 60 minutes actually doing the work at hand, you would have accomplished so much more. Therefore, to ensure that you fix your lost balance and achieve maximum productivity at the same time, try kicking back every once in a while and take your time to achieve “less.”
Think about the Things/People You Love
It is a known fact that we feel more centered and “at home” when we are surrounded by the people and things that we adore the most in the world. This is the reason why so many of us feel blessed, warm, and cozy when we spend time with our families during the holidays. That is the moment when we realize how blessed we really are and that ultimately makes us feel more grounded in our true selves. So, whenever you feel disconnected and lost, try to think about your family members, partner, pets, or any other loved ones and try to spend as much time as possible with them.
Do a “System Check” of Your Senses
Instead of being overwhelmed by the surge of sensations caused by the noise in your life, sit back, relax, and do a “system check” of all your sensory channels, which includes your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin. Treat them like actual people and ask them questions along the lines of, “Hey there, eyes! What have you two been up to lately? Dear nose, what’s cooking? Oh, my ears, what do you hear? Hello tongue, it’s been a while since we had a chat, hasn’t it?” In short, I want you to feel, truly feel what your 5 senses are showing you at the moment. By paying attention to your sensory channels, you will definitely feel more centered and in control of your senses.
Meditate and Block Out the Noise of the World
At times, by sitting alone in a room and detaching yourself from the noise of the world, you might be able to find that sweet “balanced” spot. Having been practiced for centuries by people around the globe, there is hardly any problem which meditation can’t solve and this is why I always recommend it as a solution to my clients. Settle either on a chair or on the floor with your legs crossed. Remember that you must be alone for this process. Close your eyes, stop thinking, and start breathing deeply. Soon, the noise that has been bothering you will start to fade away and you will actually feel yourself being drawn towards your inner balance!
It’s completely normal for people to get lost and have their internal balance disturbed. However, it is crucial for you to try and regain that balance as soon as possible and become centered again, otherwise, you will find yourself moving further and further away from your path. All the best!

The 3 Roles Played by Every Guardian Angel
The universe has everything planned out for every being but at times, these Angels, by the will of God, interfere to change the course of action. We avoid injuries and emotional and financial losses on a daily basis, both consciously and unconsciously. Most of the time, the latter is the case and Guardian Angels are usually behind this. We don’t even realize this but Guardian Angels impact our lives on significant levels by playing three roles. But, which ones? Let’s find out!
As the name suggests, the main purpose of Guardian Angels is to “guard” or protect. This protection may be offered in a number of ways but for now, I just want to focus on the physical aspects. Human beings are extremely vulnerable – so vulnerable that even a little bump on the head can end our lives immediately. The thought is scary and puts everything into perspective. For that very purpose, God created Guardian Angels to keep us from harm’s way. How is it that your children stay safe every time they leave home to go to school? How come your grandparents keep their balance while going up and down flights of stairs? How come you never crash when you are driving really fast on the highway? The simple answer is that we are saved most of the time by Guardian Angels!
This is one of the primary duties of Guardian Angels. They either protect us by taking a physical shape and interfering or by whispering thoughts that divert us towards the safer path, one where the threat doesn’t exist. In any case, it’s really beautiful and comforting to think that there is someone out there who deeply cares for us and keeps us safe.
Apart from physically protecting us from harm, Guardian Angels also play the role of guides in our lives. Every once in a while, we feel lost and confused, so much that we start questioning our very existence and the life we’ve lived so far. In this situation, it becomes difficult to make the important decisions in life – ones that could either make or break everything, like proposing to your significant other, making a risky business decision, choosing what career to pursue, etc. Because of the frustration, things stop making sense. In this case, Guardian Angels show us the correct path and clear all those confusions and doubts. They either guide us by implanting positive thoughts in our minds or take physical forms to come to our aid (despite being purely spiritual beings).
Guardian Angels don’t just guide us with everyday decision-making. At times, when we are thinking evil thoughts, the Angels (who want you to do the right thing, the thing that’s best for you) whisper things that stop evil thinking. That’s because they are programmed that way – the word “evil” doesn’t exist in their dictionary so they try their best to stop you from taking the wrong path.
Guardian Angels want what’s best for us. That’s their eternal purpose and that’s the most important role they have to play. At times, Guardian Angels are unable to protect us because of God’s will and the way the universe has planned events out. For this reason, Guardian Angels are constantly praying for us. If we have been good in our lives, they call out to God and ask Him for our protection and overall betterment. And the beautiful thing is that their prayers are extremely effective and carry weight in the eyes of God. So you should consider yourself lucky because a divine being, who you have never formally met, is your well-wisher and wants you to achieve happiness and success in life.
Remember that Guardian Angels are God’s creations. And every creation has certain limitations. It’s true that Angels have far superior powers than the souls of human beings but they too turn towards God to seek help.
An Important Thing to Remember…
People often question the existence of Guardian Angels by saying things like, “If Guardian Angels exist, then why do we get hurt, make bad decisions, and feel lost all the time?” The answer to these questions is straightforward – Guardian Angels do all they can to fulfill their duties but, ultimately, we are the ones who have to make the final decision. Guardian Angels might try to guide you to the correct path but the ultimate decision lies in your own hands! For example, a person who got injured on a hiking trip must have experienced bad feelings before they left the house. These were likely coming from their Guardian Angels but they chose to ignore them. That is on the individual entirely.
In the end, I would like to advise everyone to listen to their 6th sense or gut feelings more often. At times, these feelings might be coming from your Guardian Angels trying to set your path straight and eliminate dangers from your life. In order to do that, you have got to have a little faith. And to build faith, you’ve got to live your life the way you were meant to – by tackling things as they come along and believing in a higher power.
