The figure on our paycheck is important undoubtedly but our attitude to money and wealth is what is equally important and at times, perhaps the most important thing in life. You work hard and make some money too at the end of the day but may also keep feeling exhausted, broke and poor nevertheless, and feel that it would never get any better. Sounds familiar? You probably are experiencing a money blockage.
What are Money Blockages?
A money blockage is nothing beyond bad attitude that stops money from flowing in, creates obstructions, and hidden leaks. It manifests itself as,
- the perception of never having ‘enough’ money
- the memories of being broke, in debt, homeless, living on charity or welfare
- the despair of staying stuck in a dead end job
- the fear of your business never taking off
- the resentment of others having more than you
These fears and bad memories develop a ‘victim mindset’ and in turn attract even more bad luck and financial crises. Therefore, you need to understand the root cause of your fear and despair towards money and work to eliminate it. When you start clearing away the mental clutter, negative energies, and money barriers, you will become a powerful magnet, radiating positive energy and attracting abundance in your life. Make small but mindful changes in your work habits and your outlook towards life and money:
When you go to your business place with an abundance mindset, your energy and confidence level would be high. You would be able to attract people, influence and convince them in a better way and create opportunities.
One way of breaking free of the victim mentality is to start your small business with the feeling of being grateful, blessed, and fortunate for health, having opportunities, time, skills, having friends and family. Start your workday with this positive mindset and see your day transform from ordinary to extraordinary.
A good life or business is not built through wasting money, splurging on fancy stationary, and furniture, etc. Frugality means living and working within your means. It means spending your money as well as energy and time wisely and strategically to grow your business.
Enjoy What You Have
Do not mistake frugality for stinginess. Do not hoard everything away! Spend something on yourself instead of materialistic things. Do not forget to appreciate the simpler pleasures of life and enjoy them while growing your business: read a good book, have a cup of coffee, take a trip to the seaside, a spa, a trip to the mall with your kids. Rewarding yourself often with these experiences will help you appreciate the here and now and feel richer already!
Give Something Back
No matter how little you make, make it a rule to set aside some money or time for someone else in need. Do it without expectation of a return or a reward. The more you will give others, the more the universe will give you back through mysterious ways.
What helps us through testing, trying and bad times is the attitude. Recognizing and removing my own money blockages helped me start attracting abundance, wealth, freedom and joy in my life. From being a broke, single mom, I was able to start my own business at 25, pay for my education, my own car, and house within a few years. At a particular point, your life is what you make of it. There is only one person to congratulate when you succeed and only one person to blame when you fail, which is you. Because this is the reality, you want to create a life which you are proud of 100 percent. There is no denying that there will be no bumps and roadblocks during this process, but the most important thing is how you are going to handle these situations and how you overcome them is going to matter the most.
There are different ways which you can take to create a life which you can be proud of. Here are some of those;
1: Stay Careful of those who offer advice.
While some pieces of advice are worth listening to, other advice comes from those people who think they know what is best for everyone else or even dangerous, they just like hearing their voice. You will meet a lot of people in your life who would tell you that they think this is what is best for you. Don’t listen to them because sometimes those people are just giving advice just to sound better in front of you. It’s better to just respectfully ignore these advices because if you follow one of these advices and it turns out bad for you, you cannot blame that guy for that mishap because you were the one who trusted that person blindly and listened to him without even checking out is that person even credible or not. So it is better to be careful when someone offers you any advice.
2: Get some self-awareness!
You cannot succeed in life until and unless you know exactly who you are. And this does not mean in a cliché way, it really means that you should know who you really are and know what your capabilities are. You should know what your strengths are, you should know what your weaknesses are, if you are a wacky friend, you should be able to own it and change it. If you are a kleptomaniac you should be able to look in the mirror and accept it. You cannot be proud of your life until if your life is built on a lie.
3: Give more than you take
Of course, it is really important to take in life, but if you could give more than you take then you will be able to look back and know that you were a good person. The act of giving can come in any form be it in the form of financial donations or volunteering your time to some cause or not fighting with your brother on the dinner table just for a change. Try being the person who you would feel good about just by thinking of him. And to be that person you have to be helpful and caring and giving and aiding things to those who are in need. Giving does not only give you the opportunity to pat yourself on the back, but it also makes you feel good about yourself. So it is way better to give than to take.
4: Be realistic in your expectations
The important thing to keep in your mind is that you have to have expectations for yourself and for others. If you won’t have expectations for yourself, you would just end up floating in life without having a clear goal or objective. However, it is essential to be realistic in your expectations; if you are 5’1 do not expect to be a renowned runaway model. If you are not able to carry a tune even after years of vocal training don’t expect that you would become Taylor Swift. This doesn’t mean that you settle for something else, but it is about being self-aware enough to recognize you need to reign those expectations in a bit.
5: You should remember that regret is for fools.
The one thing which I never believe is that “everything happens for a reason” what I believe is that your life is a combined effort of everything that has happened to you. From good to worst to the fight you had with your best friend to the cereal you had in the morning to the job you left, all these components have made a combined effort to put you where you are today. Since this is the truth you can’t have a life you are proud of if you have regrets. The biggest favor you can do to yourself is, regret nothing. Just believe in yourself and keep on doing what you are and always try to get results which are better for you.
All in all, if you want to create a life which you are proud of you should never let anyone decide for you what is best for you, you should be competent enough to take your decisions by yourself and you should always believe in your abilities and qualities and never have any regrets if something’s turn bad, because you can always try to do it again and achieve it any way you can.

It is a well-known concept that in life, attitude is everything. However, the practice is quite an opposite in the masses. We find it hard to change how we look at life, work, and relationships. It is a common feeling that despite our talent, dedication, and hard work, we are unable to achieve the results, wealth, and success that we want to achieve. This kind of failure makes us feel frustrated. In actuality, we are not victims of the universe but of our limited mindsets.
